Lindiwe Lekasapa is a former dancer and arts enthusiast who pursued a career in arts management after completing her matriculation. She has a background in performing arts and administration and has also been on stage herself.
Lindiwe’s career trajectory reflects her dedication and passion for the arts, as she has transitioned from a performer to an arts manager and producer, contributing to the cultural landscape through her work in theatre and industry at large. She gained significant experience in arts management, including programming, producing, project management, and financial management. Her involvement in various editions of the International Dance Umbrella Festival, Danse l’Afrique Danse, New Dance Festival, and Joburg Arts Alive allowed her to develop valuable skills in managing arts and cultural events.
In her role as a Producer at Joburg City Theatres, Lindiwe has been involved in producing and co-producing various productions. Some of the notable productions she has worked on include “The Manhattan Brothers,” “Mother of All Eating,” “Gone Native,” “The Gibson Kente Tribute,” “Hugh Masekela Tribute,” “Legends Celebrating Mandela,” “Bantu,” “Dead End,” “Joseph Shabalala Musical,” “Sizwe Bantu is Dead,” “The Island,” “Festival of Lights,” “Kunene and the King,” and “Don Giovanni,” among others.
