Dhaveshan Govender

Dhaveshan Govender is a South African actor, writer and comedian. One part of the viral TV Commercial for Polka.co.za, he has also been seen in the films Stouteboudjies, Layla Fourie, For Better For Worse and Leon Schuster’s Pay Back The Money. Television credits include Bay of Plenty. Govender has been most active in theatre, and has performed throughout South Africa. Notable performances include his acclaimed one-man show, King of Old Trafford, and Aya’s Boy, Shear Madness, Tamasha on Hope Street, The Fantastical Flea Circus (for which he was awarded Best Actor in a Children’s Play at the Durban Theatre Awards), amongst others. Govender is also an award-winning writer and occasional stand-up comedian. He lives in Durban with his writer/actress wife, Shika Budhoo, their 8-year-old son, Sai and 3 dogs.
